Organization for Writing and a Giveaway

For my writing inspiration this week, I wanted to focus a bit on organization.  Awhile back, Tara at 4th Grade Frolics had a post on creating thumbnail galleries with inlinkz to organizer her posts.  I thought this was awesome, so I finally sat down and tried it.  Check out my pages at the top to see my ideas for Writing, Reading, and Organization.

I wanted to share some of things I have created with you related to writing:

I have created some writing graphic organizers, rubrics, and checklists for grades 3-5 based on the Common Core Standards. You can get them at my TpT store. For the graphic organizers, there is one for narrative, opinion, and informative.

For each organizer, there is also a second one at the top where I added a place to use RAFT.  I love using RAFT as a planning strategy because it challenges students to think critically.  Before writing, they have to consider the role of the narrator, their audience, the format of the writing, and the overall topic.

I also have a School Year Survival Guide, a Wayside School Writing Activity, and Back to School Writing Prompts (and some other stuff eluding me right now). I am currently working on some writing prompts for persuasive writing similar to the back to school writing.

I also have created lots of sets of word wall letters and word wall words with the first 500 Fry words and a couple with the Dolch Sight Words.

Each week (almost), I have shared a quote, poem, and picture by topic that can be shared with your students for writing inspiration.  Check out my Writer's toolbox page for a thumbnail gallery of the topics I have chosen over the last few months.

Now just because it's Wednesday and I feel like it, I have decided to do a small-giveaway.  You can win up to $15 worth of my TpT writing and word wall products.  There will be 3 winners: one will win $15, one will win $10, and one will win $5. The giveaway runs until Monday, July 16. If you would like to contribute any products to this writing giveaway, email me at ideabackpack@gmail.com

Later on, I will probably do some other small giveaways focused on organization, reading, and classroom decor.  My next big giveaway is spinning around in my head as well.  If you would like to share about this giveaway, that would be awesome.  Thanks so much for following me!
